Produce a comparison report

Put two or more studies of the same body side by side, and answer the two questions a reviewer will ask: does the result depend on the mesh, and does it depend on the turbulence model.

Runs on the free tier; the PDF is watermarked.

A case is one body and any number of studies of it, so the geometry is shared and only the study is duplicated.

  • Add a simulation at the bottom of the setup tree, or + New simulation in the toolbar, and answer the dialog.
  • Or use on a simulation header in the tree and choose Duplicate, then change the one thing you are testing. Rename… it to say what that is.

For mesh independence, change Base cell size under Mesh (or the levels under Refinements) and nothing else. For model dependence, change Model under Models and nothing else. Changing two things at once produces a difference you cannot attribute.

Mesh and run each simulation.

Select Comparison in the tree. It appears once there is more than one simulation.

Each study gets a block showing Solver, Turbulence, Cells, Base cell, Target y+ and Iterations, with its outcome beside the name. A study that has not been run says not run rather than showing a blank — which is the entry that matters most when a comparison looks too good. Open this simulation switches to it.

Every figure is read back out of the stored models rather than recomputed, so it reports what each study actually did.

If the case is an incidence sweep, the Incidence sweep section adds the stated findings — lift-curve slope, Cl max, pitching-moment slope and the neutral point — above the Cl, Cd, Cm and drag-polar plots.

Derived quantities turns coefficients into whatever your machine actually needs. Press + Add a derived quantity, name it, write the expression and give it a Unit — the unit is a label and is not checked against the expression. What you can use in an expression lists every symbol with its current value; click a name to copy it.

Press Export comparison report. One PDF: the comparison table, then each study’s own setup and results. The per-simulation report is still under Report, inside each simulation.

  • Every study you meant to include shows an outcome, not not run.
  • The quantity you care about is either stable across the meshes — in which case you have a mesh-independent result — or it is not, and you need a finer one.
